Recognising that art is used as a therapeutic tool to help children
express feelings they may be unable to express verbally following a
traumatic experience such as a hurricane, the ARD, through the Ministry
of Education, invited all primary and secondary schools to take part in
the ARD Art Adventure competition.
A total of 55 students submitted drawings, which were judged on June
23, 2005 at the ARD Board Room by a panel of four judges. The 12
winning drawings are featured in the 2006 commemorative calendar.
Prime Minister Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell, Minister of
Education Claris Charles and ARD Director of Social Recovery Dr.
Jennifer Holder Dolly will address the launch.
Members of the media are invited to cover the launch, which begins at 11 a.m. at the ARD Board Room.
Please note there is limited seating; therefore kindly advise of your attendance on Monday, October 3, 2205.
