The 100 units, comprising single and semi detached structures, were donated by the Government of Venezuela. Construction was undertaken by a Venezuelan military team, most of whom recently left Grenada.

The Agency for Reconstruction and Development (ARD) has been appointed Project Manager by the Government of Grenada to coordinate and ensure completion of infrastructural works at the 10-acre site.

The ARD, in consultation with the Housing Authority of Grenada, has prepared the design works for retaining walls, steps, roads and bridges, as well as completed the competitive tendering process for these works.

The ARD has also completed the planning requirements for the provision of utility services. As a result, the Grenada Electricity Services Ltd. installed poles at the site this week. The National Water and Sewerage Authority is finalising its plans for services.
