The Agency for Reconstruction and Development (ARD) was established
by the Government of Grenada as the Nation's coordinating and
monitoring body to facilitate effective implementation of the recovery
and rebuilding process, following the widespread devastation caused by
hurricane Ivan on September 7, 2004.
ARD operations are guided by:

- Transparency
- Responsiveness
- Sensitivity
- Flexibility
- Cost Effectiveness
The ARD is mandated to collaborate with all entities involved in the
reconstruction process, including donor agencies, service clubs,
churches, the private sector, non governmental organisations, community
groups, the Government of Grenada and other governments to mobilise
financial, human, technical and other resources required to facilitate
reconstruction.
