The Social Recovery Department focuses on housing, poverty alleviation,
counseling, training and retraining, as well as institutional
strengthening. The Department is addressing the psychological and
social needs of the population and is also compiling data on social
circumstances in order to enhance the planning process, ensuring
effective coordination of material, financial and technical assistance
for housing and leading an initiative to facilitate higher standards of
human settlement through coordinated inter-agency planning are specific
responsibilities of the Department.
COUNSELLING CONTACT REFERENCES
As a public service and to support Government Ministries and
agencies, as well as the non-governmental community in the provision of
counselling services, the ARD compiled a data base of persons and
institutions with the appropriate skills to be called upon for
counselling and debriefing services in the event of a disaster or
